The Castles of Abruzzo
Abruzzo is a land full of riches to be discovered, such as its fortresses and castles stretching from the sea to the hinterland. The Abruzzo coast gives us historical gems such as the ancient towers of Martinsicuro (Alba Adriatica) or the fortresses of Vasto and the Cerrano tower and castle of Ortona. From Alba Adriatica to Tortoreto by bicycle
The best way to get around in a seaside area in summer is by bicycle: we therefore recommend an itinerary from Alba Adriatica to Tortoreto, which you can take with your family or friends for a day exploring the Abruzzo coast. Wonderful beaches, crystal-clear waters and historical monuments to visit, such as the Torrione di Martinsicuro. Now in a state of abandonment, this tower was probably built to sight the enemy. Continuing on we arrive at Tortoreto Alta, a village rich in art and history. Here, in fact, findings of villages give certainty that villages were already present from the fifth millennium BC. Finally, we arrive at Tortoreto Lido, an area that is certainly very lively in summer thanks to the tourists who go there for their summer holidays.
